It's an avocado...thaaaaaanks

This week was so busy, and this next week is going to be even more hectic.
Let's just start off with the fact that it's my little sister's 15th birthday today!!
Also I HIT 10 MONTHS! It's so crazy how fast time is going by.
Christmas parties:
So this week we had FHE with our whole zone, and we played White Elephant. It was the most fun time I've had with a zone! Sister Farrer took one of my avocados for a present.
We went to a ward Christmas party on Saturday night and Santa pulled my companion and I onto his lap. It was the most awkward moment of my whole mission.
Then we had a YSA relief society party, and it was also a lot of fun! It kind of makes me want to go to my YSA ward when I get home. Kind of.
We went to the Christmas lights on Wednesday, and there were so many youth groups there. We couldn't even stand on the side walk. This 17 year old boy accidentally brushed against my arm, and of course I wigged out. bc a boy touched my arm and that's gross. The Young Men's leader saw me freaking out and he (jokingly) told the boy that he's going to get kicked out of church for harassing a sister missionary. I've never seen someone look so scared in my whole life! haha
Sister Bischoff and I got sick on Thursday, so sister Farrer gave us medicine, and we KNOCKED OUT for about 5 hours. So much for missionary work.
That night Sister Anderson and I decided to tract a little bit. We knocked on a door that said "No Soliciting" on it, but I'm not soliciting so it's okay.
Well we knocked on the door and this angry old man stormed out of his house and yelled at us "Can you read. Do you speak english? THEN WHY ARE YOU HERE?! Go away. The good Lord does not forgive you for not following directions."
We just walked away with wide eyes and didn't say anything.
Good Sir, all I wanted to do was invite you to the Mesa Christmas lights..
We had a Choir concert last night, and it was so amazing. Of course something had to happen there. Sister Bischoff and I were in the front row because she was a narrator. Well I accidentally started singing the elder's part, and started laughing so hard I started crying.
Good news is..my Mission President saw me and started laughing too.

HAVE AN AMAZING WEEK EVERYONE AND MERRY ARIZONA CHRISTMAS!

"The cure for everything is bed rest" -President Nelson

This week was amazing! Here's all that went down:
So we went on exchanges this week and I was with Sister Irvin. She and I had a super eventful exchange. We both woke up super sick and stayed in bed all day.
Sick days on the mission are the worst.
So our investigator Mariah is on date for January 21st! It's a tenative date, but still. She's going to get baptized and she's so amazing!
On Saturday we went to a sealing of a family in our ward. I definitely balled my eyes out. It was one of the best moments of my mission.
That night we got to see the incredible President Russell M. Nelson at a YSA fireside. I'm definitely thankful that I'm in a YSA ward now.
It was so amazing to be in the same room as an apostle of God. The spirit was so strong. There's definitely no way that I can deny that God isn't real. God is real, and He speaks to us through his apostles and prophets.

So last night at the Christmas lights I got the BEST surprises in the world!
Jacquelyn Nelson, Mrs. Rikki, The Perez's, Mr. Reed, and the Albrights all came to see me last night! It definitely brought in the Christmas spirit and tons of tears.
I love this gospel. I love Christmas time, family, friends, and our Savior.

"You're not that cute. Your hair's uneven. You look dusty.

So this week we picked up a new investigator in the YSA! It feels so good to teach someone! She's so amazing. Our Relief society president came with us to the lesson, and I don't know how we would get through the lesson without her. Members definitely don't realize what an impact they have on the investigators when they come out with us.
I got to see Aly Macie this week!! (my last companion) Sister Reed surprised me with her. and of course...I cried.
We has YSA Stake conference this weekend. It was so weird seeing people I know from before the mission. It wasn't a lot, but it was still weird. Ysa is an interesting place, but the MOST fun!
My companion is the funniest person in the world.
We were in the car listening to music both being super quiet and soaking in the spirit.
She gets super loud and asks what my favorite number it. 14. Duh.
I asked what hers was. This was her answer "1.772453850905576"
Why you ask? It's the square root of pi.

I hope everyone has an amazing week!

"Heavenly Father..I pray that tomorrow will be Thanksgiving. Amen"

I just want to start with saying how absolutely amazing everything is!!
I love this whole week.
Friday we got to work the temple lights. We met so many amazing people.
The feeling I felt there was so overwhelming. My companion and I started crying.
Christmas time is my favorite time of the year! Everyone's hearts are opening and so much more willing to help serve someone else.
There was a guy so confused walking around wearing a bike helmet. He asked us if we've seen his bike light on the ground. We asked him if we could pray with him to find it, and he shot us down and walked away. There were elders from the Mesa mission and they laughed SO hard, but so did we.  Then I was trying to help a 3 year old little girl and she just looked at me and screamed for a solid 5 minutes. At least her mom taught her stranger danger.
Also we have an apostle coming to speak to us on December 10th! We're not allowed to know who yet, BUT the YSA has a fireside that the apostle is speaking at after the missionary's fireside. So we get to hear from him TWICE! What did I do to deserve this wonderful life?
Today we went to Shnepf farms today and hung out with the Bella Vista zone.
I got to ride what the Shnepf's called a roller coaster. It was so rickety, but so much fun!
Also, being in YSA is so much fun. The people are so weird, but in the best way possible.
And James the Mormon and Jester are coming to perform on New Years Eve for the YSA...uh does that mean I get to go? I. WISH!!
I think I'm the most awkward human being in the world. Maybe not. BUT in YSA Correlation they asked me to say the prayer and I laughed so hard during the prayer I almost pottied on myself. THEN right before the correlation Sister Anderson and I were banging on the doors because we thought only the elders were inside..NO there was a baptism going on. So we get inside and go to the bathroom, and of course I start laughing. We realized the baptismal font was open and EVERYONE could hear me laughing.
Well, I hope everyone has an amazing week!

WHOA I'm halfway there. WHOAA livin on a prayer.

So the fact that I'm halfway done with my mission makes me want to cry and smile all at the same time. How did time fly by so fast? I'm just on a downhill slope now.
So I'm in Desert Ridge...AGAIN. It's pretty awesome though. I'm in the other stake. It's weird to be back in my old zone, but there is only 1 person that's stayed since I was here last. It's so much fun here!
I honestly haven't laughed this hard my whole mission. There are only 4 sisters in the zone, and we all live together. #quadsquad aaaand we might have put of Christmas tree up this past Wednesday, and we may be taking our house Christmas pictures today. Are we excited for Christmas? I'm more than excited.

So the BEST news I've gotten my whole mission. I'm going to work the Mesa Christmas lights!! they picked a certain number of sisters from the Mesa, Gilbert, Scottsdale, and Tempe missions to come serve once a week from Thanksgiving until after Christmas. I'm so pumped! Next week I'll send out my schedule.
I'm so pumped to work at a temple visitor's center! It's going to be so amazing.
https://youtu.be/91r2KC6ohpA  (Video of the lights) I'm just a little pumped. no bigggie

Sister Anderson is my new companion. She's from Knoxville, Tennessee, but don't let the tennessee fool you. She definitely doesn't sound or act lie a southerner. haha but blessings that I keep getting put with southern companions.

I'm over the Mesquite Canyon, Everton, and Meridian YSA ward. Let's all LOL @ the fact that I'm over a YSA ward really quick. bc I've been laughing about it since Wednesday.
Well I hope everyone has an amazing week! Serve the Lord, and love your neighbors.
